The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organized a warm and graceful fresher’s reception for Batch 24 on Wednesday, 16th April 2025. The event commenced at 3:00 PM at the NAME Seminar Room, located on the 5th floor (west side) of the ME Building. The program was anchored by Mrs. Nabiha Tasnim, Lecturer, Department of NAME, BUET, who conducted the proceedings with poise and professionalism. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Mr. Sajid Hossain, Lecturer, Department of NAME, BUET. After that, a comprehensive introduction to the department was delivered by Mr. Md. Imdadul Haque, Lecturer, Department of NAME, BUET. He introduced the renowned faculty members to the new students and outlined the academic and research vision of the department.

An inspirational speech was delivered by Professor Dr. Mir Tareque Ali, whose words were filled with motivation, guidance, and encouragement for the fresher students. His address was one of the highlights of the program. The freshers were warmly welcomed with floral receptions presented by the faculty members. This was followed by a brief self-introduction session by the new students, allowing them to share their aspirations and excitement about joining BUET’s NAME department. Two students from Batch 24 (Level-1, Term-1) delivered short speeches reflecting their ambitions and enthusiasm for the journey ahead. The program concluded with an insightful and encouraging speech by the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Md. Mashiur Rahaman, who emphasized academic excellence, discipline, and innovation. To wrap up the event, the department arranged refreshments, offering students and faculty members an opportunity to interact in an informal setting. The reception successfully marked the beginning of a new academic chapter for Batch 24 in a welcoming and memorable manner.
