International Conference on Marine Technology (MARTEC)

The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) of  BUET successfully arranged the International Conference on Marine Technology (MARTEC) in the years 2010 and 2016 at BUET, Dhaka, Bangladesh where many researchers joined in the conferences from home and abroad. 

Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) of  BUET  is again entrusted to arrange the   13^th International Conference on Marine Technology  (MARTEC) which will be held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh in 2022.

History of International Conference on Marine Technology (MARTEC)

The journey of the regional conference on Marine Technology began in 1998. Since then this conference had been organized biennially until 2008 based on the concept that the ASIAN countries will form a regional network and cooperation between academics and industries. After the success of these biennial regional conferences. The history of MARTEC is as follows:

• 2^nd MARTEC  : ITS, Indonesia, 2000
• 3^rd MARTEC   : ITS, Indonesia, 2002
• 4^th MARTEC   : UTM, Malaysia, 2004
• 5^th MARTEC   : UNHAS, Indonesia, 2006
• 6^th MARTEC   : University Indonesia, 2008
• 7^th MARTEC   : BUET, Bangladesh, 2010
• 8^th MARTEC   : UTM, Malaysia, 2012
• 9^th MARTEC   : ITS, Indonesia, 2014
• 10^th MARTEC   : BUET, Bangladesh, 2016
• 11^th MARTEC   : UTM, Malaysia, 2018
• 12^th MARTEC   : Pattimura University, Indonesia, 2020

The 13^th International Conference on Marine Technology (MARTEC 2022) will be held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh in 2022.

Objectives of MARTEC

• Encouraging better cooperation between academic institutions and industries
• Strengthening regional and international networking
• Providing a forum for sharing knowledge among regional and international researchers in the field of marine technology
