The Association of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Bangladesh (ANAMEBD) is a professional organization representing naval architects and shipbuilding specialists in Bangladesh. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ANAMEBD took place on December 28, 2024, at the NAME Seminar Room in BUET. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Md. Reaz Hasan Khondoker, the former President of ANAMEBD. The inaugural speech was delivered by Dr. Gautam Kumar Saha, the former Senior Vice President, and the former General Secretary, Dr. N. M. Golam Zakaria, presented the annual report and discussed the budget for 2024. Dr. Kazi Naimul Hoque, the Assistant Election Commissioner, then announced the newly elected ANAMEBD committee on behalf of Chief Election Commissioner, Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, following the results of the ANAMEBD Election-2024 held on December 14, 2024.

The meeting continued with an open discussion on various activities of ANAMEBD, where both current and former committee members, along with other members, actively participated by offering valuable opinions. Shanita Safwat, Assistant Engineer (LNG) at RPGCL, discussed the suitability of LPG, LNG carriers, and hydrogen fuel in Bangladesh. Md. Saidur Rahman, Risk-Based Inspection Engineer at DNV-GL Business Assurance Middle East, suggested introducing welding-related courses to improve employment opportunities in the welding sector. Several members raised concerns for future consideration, including a proposal to establish a separate ANAMEBD section at IEB.

The meeting concluded with farewell speeches from former President Dr. Md. Reaz Hasan Khondoker, who shared his experiences, followed by a promising speech from the newly elected President, Mr. Saiful Islam. The AGM ended with a dinner.
